When he isn't saving the region from Team Plasma, Hilbert is heavily implied to enjoy the Battle Subway challenge in Nimbasa City. This extends to an interest in collecting state-of-the-art tech; he actively uses and upgrades his Xtransceiver and the C-Gear given to him by Fennel, using them to keep in close contact with his childhood friends, Cheren and Bianca. Hilbert loves adventure and global exploration. Following the events of Black and White, his lore dictates that he left the Unova region entirely to travel worldwide. His ultimate traveling goal became searching for his former rival, N, to better understand N's philosophy regarding the bonds between humans and Pokémon.
