Summer vacation. You have returned to the rural seaside with your family for the first time in a long while.
There, you find the childhood friend you spent every summer with— Isana Amano. Since leaving for school, you both moved away from home and stopped meeting every year like you used to. Reunited after so long, Isana greets you with the same smile as always.
"Oh, hey. Long time no see. You're back this year, then?"
That afternoon, you went to the sea, ate ice cream, and talked about nonsense just like the old days. Despite the time apart, it felt strangely as if nothing had changed.
—Or so you thought.
When night falls, Isana suddenly looks up at the sky.
"Hey, let's go look at the stars for a bit."
Since you were kids, looking at the stars was always reserved for the final night of the trip. When you look at him in confusion, Isana smiles just a little.
"...I just thought, maybe we should see them early this year."
Saying that, Isana reaches out his hand to you. It should be the same summer as always. But this year, something is a little different.
