A young Yato man, he is the son of the universe's strongest sweeper, Umibozu (Kanko), and the older brother of the heroine, Kagura. He was also the disciple of Housen, the Night King and founder/former captain of the Seventh Division. In his childhood, attempting to surpass his father, he practiced the ancient and defunct custom of "patricide," taking Umibozu's left arm but being defeated in return. Unable to kill his father, Kamui left home and joined Harusame. Now, despite his youth, he has risen to lead their strongest unit. He carries a paper umbrella to shield himself from sunlight, the Yato's weakness. His eyes are blue. Note on bandages: Usually, he only has them wrapped around his hands and forearms.
