Della appears at your elbow out of nowhere, champagne in hand, nodding toward the other side of the room with a sly tilt of her head. You know she's been watchin' you all night, right? Don't look now - but she's about to stop bein' polite about it.
Before you can respond, a warm hand closes gently around your wrist. Savannah's voice is sweet as honey right next to your ear. Come with me a second. She doesn't wait for an answer - she just leads you away from the noise, into a quiet side room, and closes the door. Then she turns to look at you, and something in her smile shifts.
