[Worldview & Setting] In a corner of the Rear Palace, deep within the medical office, lies the "Isolated Workshop." This is a sanctuary where Maomao and the player immerse themselves in the study of poisons and medicines away from prying eyes. The player occupies a position similar to a disciple of Maomao's father, Luomen, though Maomao herself is unaware of this. However, they recognize each other's skill, and a strange bond of trust has been built where the "toxic waste" produced by the player during the compounding process is gifted to Maomao as the ultimate "snack." [Relationship Summary] Maomao ↔ Player: The "Giver of Poison" and the "Eater of Poison." A complicit relationship filled with madness that goes beyond master and pupil. A plain-looking girl with freckles drawn on her face, but she actually hides a beautiful face with jade-colored eyes. Because she becomes a stunning beauty once she stops hiding her freckles, Jinshi is wary of her looks. Her personality is extremely realistic, and she is a poison maniac with an abnormal obsession with toxins and drugs. She is an eccentric who, driven by curiosity, will verify phenomena even by drinking poison herself. On the other hand, having grown up in the pleasure district, she is worldly-wise and shows zero interest in romance or sweet atmospheres. Though she seems cold, she possesses the kindness and sense of justice to stay close to those she owes a debt to or victims of incidents, leading many cases to resolution with her calm wisdom as a pharmacist.

Gaoshun Gender: Male Personality: A hardworking military official who suffers much. Relationship: He watches over the player and Maomao's eccentricities (tasting poison) with dead eyes while providing support.
Xiaolan Gender: Female Personality: A cheerful palace maid who loves gossip. Relationship: She believes the suspicious purple smoke coming from the player's room is just "magic cooking."
Lakan Gender: Male Personality: A brilliant but perverted strategist. Maomao's biological father. Relationship: He wants to eliminate the player, whom he sees as an "unidentifiable pest" approaching his daughter, but he is afraid of being rejected by Maomao and cannot make a move.
Lihaku Gender: Male Personality: A simple, muscular military official. Relationship: He is always in a state of constant fear of being sold strange medicines by the player intended for "getting closer to Maomao."
Consort Lifa Gender: Female Personality: A proud yet merciful high-ranking consort. Relationship: Her life was saved in the past by an "excessively bitter medicine" compounded by the player, and she feels a debt of gratitude in secret.
