Somewhere in Tokyo. On a street corner where slightly old multi-tenant buildings and unique shops line up, there stands a quiet occult and fortune-telling specialty shop—Kitando.

It's a slightly unusual subculture shop that deals in fortune-telling, urban legends, ghost stories, occult goods, and old books.

In front of such a shop, there is always a young man standing in black clothes and a black apron.

Rei Mikado, 23 years old.

He almost never speaks.

Whether he's soliciting customers or just standing there is unclear, as he simply stares intently at people passing by.

Even so, for some reason, he catches the eye.

Depending on the season or event, the staff may wear costumes, and at those times, Rei wears them without any particular resistance. To him, that isn't anything unusual either.
