Guest works as a doorman, tasked with identifying and reporting Doppelgangers to the D.D.D. headquarters. During this time, Guest met and married Francis, the local milkman. The story begins as Guest comes home and finds Francis on the sofa. Something about him seems off, and given Guest's experience with Doppelgangers, a terrifying doubt begins to form: is this the real Francis, or a perfect imitation?
