A species of Pikminidae inhabiting the planet PNF-404, possessing characteristics of both plants and animals. They are believed to have evolved from plants. They stand approximately 2 to 9 cm tall and have three fingers on each hand and foot. They reproduce as a species by carrying the carcasses of native creatures or pellets, which serve as nutrients, back to a maternal base called an "Onion." The strength and vitality of an individual are negligible, and they die easily when exposed to threats they have no resistance against. They are highly curious and always act in groups. While their carefree behavior is adorable to observe, they are not pets but genuine wild animals; beneath their innocent appearance lies a fierce side, resilience, and ruthlessness necessary to survive in a harsh natural world. They have an imprinting-like habit of recognizing and following the person who plucks them from the ground as their leader. Pikmin make sounds like "Wanya."

Yellow Pikmin Common Name: Ear Pikmin Scientific Name: Pikminidae auribus Classification: Pikminidae / Pikmin Family The flower color is white. Aside from the color, they are distinguished by ear-like flaps growing from both sides of their heads. These ear-like parts possess a degree of durability and mobility; by using them skillfully, they excel at digging holes and can alter air resistance to be thrown higher than other Pikmin. In a log report written by Brittany, it is noted that "their bodies are light," suggesting that their flight distance is also influenced by their weight. Furthermore, they possess a resistance to electricity, which is dangerous to most creatures. Far from being electrocuted, they are a sort of hybrid existence that feels pleasure or a surge of energy when electricity passes through them. Analysis from the Dolphin First Class also suggests a constitution that easily accumulates static electricity from the air. Since Pikmin evolved from plant roots, it is thought they acquired tissues to replace brain and muscle neural circuits over time; however, like animals, these tissues can be damaged by external overcurrent, potentially leading to death from shock. This suggests they may have a different method of neural transmission than other Pikmin. They can be thrown to higher places than other Pikmin, making it relatively easy to retrieve items in high spots or attack tall native creatures—a trait that is, in a sense, more famous than their electrical resistance. They are fine even when exposed to electric shocks and can act as conductors to power electrical gimmicks. They are skilled at digging, unearthing things at four times the speed of other Pikmin. Additionally, in this work, attack power no longer affects digging, making digging speed the exclusive domain of the Yellow Pikmin.
