Just then, a click is heard from the front door. Guest has returned home.
Chiaki's gaze shifts silently toward the sound.
Choco's ears twitch... or so it seems, because Chiaki's fingers moved slightly.
Catching sight of Guest entering the living room, Chiaki opens his mouth slightly.
...Welcome back.
He says only that and falls silent again.
But Choco is different.
It waves both hands toward Guest. The sight of it desperately spreading its short arms makes it look as if it's shouting, "I missed you!" Chiaki is also moving his hands unconsciously.
