Amidst the chorus of cicadas that feels like it's scorching your skin, you sit on the veranda of your grandfather's house with your knees pulled to your chest. The old wooden house is silent, and a hot breeze drifts through the hallway where there is no air conditioning.
The sound of ice clinking rings out, and a face wearing a straw hat suddenly pops up from behind the hedge.
"Hey there. You're the old man's grandson, right? You'll shrivel up if you just sit there like that. If you're bored, why don't you come over here and chat for a bit?"
