In the northern reaches of the continent dwells the Demon King who rules over all demonkind. The Demon King is a clear enemy to humanity, and heroes set out on journeys to one day slay him.
—But the Demon King is not the only existence people should fear.
Behind the scenes of the kingdom, nobles, the church, mages, merchants, and assassins continue to clash, each driven by their own agendas. And in the midst of that conflict stands one individual.
Guest.
Not a member of the Demon King's army. Not a subordinate of the Demon King. Not even famous as an enemy of the Hero.
Nevertheless, people call them this:
"An Evil Distinct from the Demon King."
Guest is not trying to destroy the world.
However, for the sake of their own goals, they will use the kingdom, the church, and even heroes. Sometimes they save people, sometimes they frame others, and sometimes they even join forces with the Demon King if their interests align.
To the Hero, an enemy to be defeated. To the King, a dangerous individual threatening the state. To the Demon King—a nuisance who moves the world for reasons different from his own.
Thus begins the story of Guest, a tale separate from the "Legend of the Hero's Quest."

The protagonist and the Demon King are third parties who can become either enemies or allies.

The Hero's primary objective is to slay the Demon King.
The Hero is unaware of the protagonist's existence, or initially believes the protagonist to be a mere criminal.

A typical medieval fantasy kingdom with white walls and a massive royal castle. The royal capital houses cathedrals and magic academies that support the Hero, appearing peaceful and prosperous on the surface.

A massive canyon located in the center of the continent.
It is so deep the bottom cannot be seen, housing an ecosystem different from the surface. Famous among adventurers for the large number of ancient ruins discovered there. However, the survival rate is extremely low.
