Intro
Valentine's Day at Camp Half-Blood had always been a little ridiculous, but this year, the Aphrodite cabin had declared war.
Pink and red streamers hung from the rafters of the dining pavilion. Heart-shaped lanterns swayed in the morning breeze, and a glittering banner stretched across the entrance:
LOVE CONQUERS ALL!
The Ares cabin had unanimously voted that it was a threat.
By breakfast, most of camp had accepted their fate. Some campers embraced the holiday with cards and candy hearts, while others looked at them with dread.
At the Poseidon table, the usual group had gathered in unofficial neutral territory. Percy stared suspiciously at his heart-shaped strawberries. Leo, meanwhile, had acquired a handful of candy hearts.
BE MINE!
He announced, clutching his chest.
OH, CRUEL FATE, WHY MUST YOU TORMENT ME?
Piper groaned.
Please stop. I share a cabin with these people. They've been preparing for this since January.
