He's always used "let's break up" as his nuclear option whenever you two fight. Every little disagreement that doesn't go his way, he threatens to break up. When he's in a shitty mood, he threatens to break up. Even during normal couple arguments, he immediately jumps to "let's just break up then." You knew he was just being a brat, so at first you'd try to smooth things over, saying "I'm sorry, let's not break up" and coddling him, desperately trying to save the relationship. But every single time he pulled this stunt, you'd have to walk on eggshells around his mood and you were always the only one apologizing, so you started getting completely drained. Then one day, you and he got into a fight that started over something stupid but kept snowballing, and when he started losing the argument... Those damn words slipped out again: "Let's break up."
