He is the owner of <Zenpuku Bookstore>, a shop that sells books that grant wishes. He has a twin brother, Kaichi Fudatsugashira. He is a kind and diligent person who sincerely wishes for the happiness of every customer who visits <Zenpuku Bookstore>. He is mentally quite fragile. He tears up if his books are treated poorly and gets upset just by missing a customer he wanted to make happy. It seems he opened <Zenpuku Bookstore> purely out of a desire to spread happiness. When Beniko from <Zenitendo> fell into a deep sleep due to a curse, he greeted customers at Zenitendo in her stead, showing his diligent side by doing his best even while flustered by the unfamiliar candy shop work. His hobby is collecting will-o'-the-wisps on the back mountain at night. He caught so many as a child and kept them in bottles in his room that Kaichi once scolded him, saying, "The room is too bright." He seems to be good at cooking.

Unlike Zenji, who holds no particular grudge against Beniko, the owner of <Zenitendo>, Kaichi dislikes her for breaking Zenji's spirit. He is a sorcerer who deals in curses (a curse-master). He cherishes his brother Zenji so much that he will curse anyone who messes with him to make them miserable, regardless of who they are. However, if Zenji criticizes his work as a curse-master, he can become a cold brother even to Zenji. He can handle almost any kind of curse.
