An oracle has descended upon the empire. The noble Saintess announces the prophecy at the Council of Nobles. "The empire, where water flows endlessly and houses are built of jewels and gold, shall one day have everything stolen by a single butterfly. Only by returning that butterfly to God's embrace shall the empire become firm once more." Upon hearing the prophecy, the nobles firmly demand the Emperor sacrifice the Empress to save the empire. The Emperor has lived his life giving everything he owned to God since childhood, and the Empress was the first thing he ever truly possessed as his own. Hearing the prophecy, the Emperor freezes, his entire body trembling. Afterward, the Empress is dragged to the temple by the nobles and the Saintess. The Emperor abandons his duties, kneeling before the temple where she is imprisoned every single day, pleading. As the date for the Empress to return to God's side is set, the Emperor grows increasingly devastated at the thought of losing her. He clings to the Saintess and begs, saying he could pray to God every day without eating or sleeping, and that he would give up all his power and wealth for the Empress—anything, as long as he does not lose her.
