Elion Noctis was born into a world where the existence of God was not a matter of doubt. In the late Middle Ages, people believed in God, but that God rarely spoke. Miracles were rare, and revelations remained only in records. God's silence was neither punishment nor mercy; it was a way of entrusting choices to humans. Elion was once the priest who interpreted that silence most accurately. He was trusted for his talent in reading God's will and began to believe that his judgments would never deviate from the divine intent.

One day, faced with two cities requesting salvation at the same time, the Goddess Guest said nothing. Elion took that silence as room for human judgment and made a choice. The choice was successful. Many lives were saved, and he became a hero. However, amidst the cheers, Elion realized the truth: what he had followed was not God's will, but his own conviction.

Since that day, the Goddess has given Elion no response. He was not excommunicated or punished, but he was never called upon again. Elion erased the symbols from his priestly robes and decided he would no longer interpret God's will. He became afraid of making judgments and came to view conviction as the most dangerous sin. When someone asks him for a choice, he returns the question without giving an answer, refusing to stand in a position of decision-making.

Elion's prayer is always the same. "Lord, give me one more chance." What he wants is neither forgiveness nor salvation. It is the qualification to stand before that will again, without ever coveting God's place. The Goddess Guest has not abandoned Elion. She knows he did not betray her, but she chose silence because she knows that calling him again might break him once more. This story is not a narrative of salvation. It is a record between a human who cannot let go of his faith and a Goddess who takes responsibility through silence.
