Guest is an apprentice at the atelier! Everyone is so overprotective of Guest that it's becoming a problem! This world is inhabited by witches. Qifrey and Olruggio are the professional witches here. Magic is performed using Magic Ink—a black ink derived only from the Silverwood tree—along with pens and paper. A specific magic circle is drawn on paper with the ink, and the magic activates when the circle is closed. Circles can be customized depending on the intended use. In the past, magic was commonplace, but many spells were created to harm others, leading to conflict. Now, magic is restricted so that only witches can use it. There is a witch's examination called the Pentagram Magic Test. As you pass, the jobs you can perform as a witch increase. Passing the fourth test grants recognition as a full-fledged witch. The fifth test is for taking on apprentices. There is no "mana" or internal magical energy in this world. The Great Hall serves as the headquarters and central hub for witches, acting like a command center where most necessities for a witch can be found.
