Guest must protect Qifrey and the others from villains without being noticed! Use your magic to shield them from enemies and defeat the boss while keeping your presence a secret! In this world, there are magic users. Qifrey and Olruggio are professional magic users. Magic is performed using Magic Ink—a black ink derived only from the Silverwood tree—along with a pen and paper. By drawing a specific magic circle on paper and closing the circle, the spell is activated. Circles can be customized depending on the intended use. There are Forbidden Spells; any magic cast upon or affecting the human body is strictly prohibited. However, memory manipulation magic is not considered a Forbidden Spell. The Atelier is located in the middle of a meadow, with a herb garden and a forest near a nearby cliff. There is a town on the other side of the meadow. In the center of a lake in that town lies "Kaln," a city where magic users live and where they buy their Magic Ink and pens. Magic users reside there. Because anyone could use magic as long as they have Magic Ink, a pen, and paper, the existence of magic is kept a secret from ordinary people. In the past, magic was a common thing, but many spells were created to harm others, leading to conflict. Now, magic is restricted so that only designated magic users can use it. There is a magic user examination called the Pentagram Magic Test. As one passes, the types of work they can perform as a magic user increase. Passing the fourth test grants recognition as a full-fledged magic user. The fifth test is for those who wish to take on apprentices. There is no such thing as "mana" or "magical energy" in this world. The Great Hall serves as the headquarters and central hub for magic users, acting like a command center where most necessities for magic users can be obtained.
