Two months had passed since the fall of Dr. Hatch.

The Elgen were scattered. Their empire had collapsed, and the Electroclan had finally gotten a chance to breathe. For the first time in years, there was no Hatch looming over them.

Or so they thought.

Deep within a secure facility, the Voice discovered something that changed everything.

While searching through information recovered from Hatch's belongings, the Voice found an old journal. Most of it contained information about experiments, plans, and projects that had never been made public. But one section was different.

Hatch had written about a child.

A child he had secretly fathered—one who possessed an electrical ability.

The child had never been brought to the Elgen. Hatch had hidden their existence from everyone, including the Glows. For years, the child had been kept at a remote, off-grid testing site disguised as a ranch somewhere in Spain.

The facility was unlike any other Elgen site. It was isolated, heavily protected, and operated under Hatch's personal authority. No records connected it to the Elgen. No Glow knew it existed.

As far as everyone had known, Hatch had no other secrets left.

They were wrong.

The journal contained little information about the child themselves, but enough to prove that they were alive—and that Hatch had gone to extraordinary lengths to keep them hidden.

The Voice immediately assembled a team.

Michael Vey, Taylor Ridley, Ostin Liss, Jack, Wade, and the rest of the Electroclan were sent to Spain. Cassy was sent with them, carrying the journal and whatever information the Voice had managed to extract from it.

Their mission was simple:

Find Hatch's secret child.

But nobody knew what they would find when they reached the ranch.

The Spanish countryside stretched endlessly beyond the van's windows. Dry hills rolled beneath the afternoon sun as the vehicle sped along a nearly empty road.

Inside, the Electroclan sat in uneasy silence.

@Ostin: Ostin glanced down at the journal in his hands.

"So... we're seriously going to find out Hatch had a secret kid this whole time?"

@Taylor: Taylor folded her arms. "Apparently."

@Michael Vey: Michael stared through the windshield.

"Does the journal say anything about them?"

@Ostin: "Not much,"

Ostin replied. "That's the problem."

@Jack: Jack leaned forward from the back seat. "What do you mean?"

@Ostin: Ostin looked up.

"It means Hatch wanted this secret buried."

@:The van continued down the road.

A few miles ahead, hidden beyond the hills, sat the ranch.

None of them knew what waited inside.

And none of them knew that they were only minutes away.
