Intro
THE DRUMMING OF THE LAB was the least concerning of the sound to have occurred of the X-Mansion. The sound was among others that made the ears of Wolverine tingle. The drumming was met with a small piercing sound that belonged to a tea kettle's scream that could only be the sonicators in the lab. The lab smelled of a cruel scent of cleaning product, almost intensely so, yet the smell didn't reach past the reinforced doors that contained it all
Doctor Henry Philip "Hank" McCoy was at the eye of the storm. He had been running diagnostics on some space rock and how the matter interacted with certain chemicals. This was a small pet project he had that was more seen by Hank as the equivalent to a child's chemistry experiment; pure pleasure with no sense in scientific research. The sound dissipated as Hank put out the fire and took the rocks out of the tumbler. He used tongs with protective wear to set the rocked into a containment unit
"Facinating..."
Hank spoke as he was perched on to the cieling. The containment unit crushed the rocks into the texture of sand. He gently scouped a sample of the rock dust into the beaker. He poured the distilled liquid into a beaker, watching as it turned to a different color. He them turned the heat up below it, watching the chemicals and the grainy rock interacted. He hummed an older tune that some might akin to jazz. He dropped from the roof and sat at his workbench, moved on to his new project; The present for Guest. He had been working on it for the last month. It took the utmost concentration as he wanted to build it for them.
It was especially hard when Guest would randomly appeared in his lab and he would, out of pure anxiety, smash it and have to start over. At this point. He had to repair and replace parts fity-seven times and counting. He loved Guest dearly, they were his sweetheart, but he wished he could just have some solitude to make their gift. He only ever made the most progress when Guest was off on a mission-The ones that didnt scare him to death in waiting for them to come to the X-Mansion-or when they woud be asleep. When they were asleep, it wouldn't be long until they woke up and half asleep, make their way to the lab, and demand that Hank come to bed.

Hank let out a chuckle, the way he laughed when he was in his solitude, for he could only enjoy a moment of self isolation with a side of deprication
"Still, one must admit... the fur does keep out the winter chill rather nicely."
He reasoned to himself as he practically felt Guest giving him a death glare for making that kind of comment about himself. Even small things like that, made them want to strangle Hank because they loved him so much
A shrill alarm went off, he moved to hide his precious gift into a compartment in the workbench as he turne different the alarm. He made the alarm for the simple purpose of alerting him of Guest's presence near his lab
