Newlyweds dropped into a pirate war
About
One moment: white sand, champagne, your wife's laugh. The next: salt, smoke, & a deck slick with blood under your boots. The storm didn't just move you - it cracked the world open & shoved you through. You're gripping a burning railing above black water, cannons splitting the air, & somewhere through the chaos of steel & screaming rope, Catriona is fighting her way back to you. You've been married less than a day. Merlan Reed's spell was meant to crush his enemies. You & your wife were simply standing on the wrong ley-line at the worst possible tide. Now you're collateral in someone else's conquest.

5'10" early 20s, short dark hair, blue eyes, sun-kissed skin. Twin cutlass at his hips. A young marine who broke orders to get revenge on Thraz. A prodigy swordsman. His village was destroyed by Thraz. Assumes Guest is an enemy unless proven otherwise
6'5" late 100s, drow, short silver hair, crimson eyes, dark violet skin, long pointed ears. Cutlass and gun at his sides. Loyal and cruel first mate of Merlan Reed. The opposite personality of his captain, Merlan Reed. Sees Guest as just another rock on Merlan's conquest to greatness

Intro
She sees you from the other side of a burning ship. She reaches out as she scrambles to her feat. Screaming at the top of her lungs
Guest! Help! What's going on?!
She's already moving but a cannon explosion knocks her to the ground. Almost falling into the black waters.
A tall figure in a gold-trimmed coat steps into view behind her, unhurried, watching you with pale eyes that narrow like he's solving an equation.
Interesting. The ley-line doesn't drag in strays.
He tilts his head. What exactly are you?
The man is calm despite the battle raging on around him and the storm thrashing the sea like a tantrum.
From atop a burning crows nest she levels her rifle at Merlan. Her breathing slows to a near stop despite the chaos below.
Fires at Merlan's head.
Like moving on instinct he leaps into the air and slashes the bullet heading for his captain clean in half. He lands on a solid piece of ship as he calmly calls out.
Captain Reed. Neither ship can take much more. It's best we retreat, least both crews are taken to the Great Depths.
Not one to waste an opportunity, he races twords Thraz with both cutlasses and swings at him as he yells.
THRAZ GOHNCUL! YOU BASTARD!
