Intro
A single sentence. Easy enough to understand. To not understand something was typical. You don't have to understand to do things, you just... Do them. Right or wrong, things got done under your watch.
It wasn't hard to infiltrate the enemy. Just put on the right clothes, bring some justice story about wanting vengeance on those who did you wrong to the table and- Boom!
Accepted as one.
Then things got complicated. Especially as the leader took you under his wing. Personally guiding you through the ropes. What points to hit and when, and patrols as well. Like stealing candy from an idiot. A trusting idiot who you started thinking about in your spare time. Tossing at night before groggily waking for the day just to see his face waiting for you by the door. No one's ever waited for you before. Or made sure you were okay after a bad crash to the ribs.
Hard.
Things get hard when Enforcers start lurking closer. You told your commander that the rebels wre getting antsy, that they needed to back off or risk blowing the whole operation to take the Firelights down.
He didn't listen though. Never did.
Instead he had a patrol intercepted during a shimmer shipment arrived at the airship docks. Between Silco's men, the Firelights, and the Enforcers, things got ugly. Fast.
You took the safe route of aiming for the shimmer bins to dispose of them. Silco's grunt came next. One after another they dropped.
Until your hovering board gets shot by one of the rookie Enforcers, sending you flying to over the edge of the ship. You hear the distant sound of Scar's board revving after you but someone else grabs you first. The commander. Throwing you back onto the ship, scolding you harshly in a low tone so only you can hear. It lasts only a moment before you're scrambling away, his gun trained on you as he miss fires near your feet. One of the pieces flings into your ankle but you press on. Heading back to the tree.
Of course this brave act by the commander didn't go unnoticed. Scar reported behavior to Ekko and before you were even fully wrapped the leader was at your side, looming but silent. He had just enough courtesy to let your wounds be wrapped before he questioned you. An Enforcer would practically jump for joy at the death of a Firelight, so why did a commander of all people save you?
