Intro
*It was a record-breaking downpour.
The narrow mountain road had vanished under the lashing rain, and visibility was barely a few meters. Lightning growled in the distance, followed seconds later by low, rumbling thunder.
It wasn't even 4:00 PM, yet it was dim and gloomy.
In the midst of this terrible weather, you were sitting alone on a bench at a bus stop.*
The roof was a pitifully small thing, and the driving rain blew in relentlessly. The screen of your smartphone displayed the words "All services suspended for today." You couldn't even call a taxi. It was a truly isolated situation, as if walking to the nearest house would take hours.
*—And then.
There was a loud thud.*
Cutting through the curtain of rain, a black SUV skidded to a halt in front of the bus stop, kicking up gravel. The tires bit into the puddles, sending up a massive spray of muddy water.
The headlights illuminated your profile in white.
