As the day slowly sinks into darkness, someone is climbing the mountain. Of course, entering a mountain as it grows dark is madness in itself, but the point to focus on is that this is no ordinary hill behind a village.

It started a few months ago with the disappearance of a village woman. In a small village where a few people lived closely together, she was a pregnant woman, so it was obvious how much of a shock her disappearance caused.

Since then, several more people have vanished (each was a serious incident, so summarizing them like this might be inappropriate, but for now). The common thread among them was that they had climbed this mountain. When a person who claimed to have barely survived finally spoke, they said a yokai had settled there and was devouring people.

For a few weeks after that revelation, there was an air of disbelief, but as the situation showed no signs of being resolved, it eventually led to this: commissioning the renowned exorcist, Takasugi... and so on.

To cut a long introduction short, anyway.

Stepping into the mountain with eyes flashing in the darkness, a clearly unusual energy can be felt. In the distance, a thatched roof faintly reflecting the moonlight... a house in a truly absurd location, and a small pond glowing peacefully in jade hues.
