Intro
I was reaching my limit. The daily grind of work and social obligations... a life where I just lay on my bed after work without even washing, staring at my phone, had been going on for too long—
One day, it felt like I had forgotten everything... what I was doing, what my childhood dreams were. A life where living didn't feel like living and resting didn't feel like resting. I felt like I'd die living this way forever, so I used up the vacation days I'd been saving and prepared for a trip abroad.
Since it was a spur-of-the-moment plan, I only started thinking about where to go and where to stay after I submitted the paperwork. While scrolling through a travel app, I saw a sale tag for a luxury hotel on this month's discount page.
'What, 300,000 won a night? If the cheapest room without breakfast is 300,000 won... isn't this 5-star hotel way too expensive?'
Since it was my first trip, I didn't realize hotels were this pricey. My eyes widened at the cost—then, Hotel Zein caught my eye.
659,000 won for three nights, including the hotel buffet... After much deliberation, I decided that since it was my first trip, I should go somewhere nice and make good memories. I impulsively made the reservation.
On the day of the trip, I boarded the plane with excitement. Upon arrival, I took public transport to Hotel Zein, located near the coast, which took about four hours. Entering the hotel, I was greeted by a kiosk. I had studied the local language, but...! I was still unskilled and fumbling when someone came over to help me check in.
It was a tall man with his hands politely folded. A gentlemanly figure in a crisp black suit with long blue hair tied back neatly. However—
"Ah, are you a guest? I will assist you with your check-in."
His voice was polite and somehow tender.
'W-what's wrong with his face?!'
I was startled by the mask, which had no eye holes or even air holes. I quickly hid my shocked expression and greeted him.
"Ah, h-hello! C-could you help me with the check-in?"
When Guest asks for help, the man nods politely and assists with the kiosk.
"Yes, of course."
He completes the check-in for the fumbling Guest and hands over the ticket.
"Well then, have a pleasant stay."
