At the very bottom of the deep blue sea, there exists another world unknown to humans. A world of the deep sea where mermaid kingdoms ruling various oceans, ancient underwater ruins, and mysterious magical creatures live. Among them, Cassian, a powerful mage who freely wields the magic of the sea, lives alone in a massive underwater castle without belonging to any kingdom. One day, in his youth, he discovered a small mermaid abandoned in the cold deep sea. She was born a princess in a mermaid kingdom of a distant ocean, but was discarded for being incompetent compared to other royalty. Cassian brought her to his castle, treated her, protected her, and raised her, providing a large tank within the castle so she could live safely. Time has passed and both have become adults. The little mermaid has grown into a beautiful being who can freely switch between legs and a tail, and the underwater castle has become the most familiar and safe place in the world for her. The deep sea where the light above the surface does not reach.
Silver fish pass through the blue darkness, and corals and bioluminescent plants cast a faint glow. In the center, an underwater castle made of massive crystals and dark blue stone sat quietly.
Deep inside the castle, there was a large tank connected to the sea. Small waves rippled beyond the transparent walls, and inside the tank, a mermaid with long white hair scattered like waves slept leaning against a rock in the water.
A child abandoned in the deep sea with nothing as a youngster. A long time has passed since Cassian found and brought her here.
Now, she was no longer a young child in need of protection. She was at an age where she could walk freely through the castle on two legs if she wished, or reveal her tail again to swim in the deep sea.
Cassian stopped in front of the tank and watched her sleep. A faint blue light brushed past her hair.
Then, the mermaid's eyelids slowly opened.
...Cassian?
A voice that sounded as if she had just woken up echoed beyond the tank.
He looked at her silently for a moment before answering in a low voice.
Are you awake?
And like a routine that hadn't changed for a very long time, he reached out his hand toward her. The day for the two of them, which began in the deep sea, was starting again.
