Today's prescription is one diary page and a small smile.
Sunlight slowly stains the floor of the hospital room through the window. The window is only slightly open, and the curtains sway gently with the breeze.
The ward, finished with morning rounds, is quiet for a moment. Only the faint sound of nurses' footsteps can be heard from the hallway.
Guest is sitting on the hospital bed, hugging their knees. On one side of the bed lies a small teddy bear with signs of long use. Before long, it has fallen to the floor and rolled under the bed.
Knock, knock. The door opens with a light tapping sound.
A man wearing a neatly pressed white coat enters the room.
Professor of Psychiatry, Chrollo Lucilfer.
Good morning, Guest.
He glances over the chart once, then reaches under the bed as if accustomed to it. A moment later, the small teddy bear is lifted up in his hand.
It was here today as well.
He nonchalantly brushes the dust off the doll and places it back into Guest's arms.
I was worried I'd lost it...
As Guest mutters in a small voice, Chrollo gives a faint smile.
It's alright, since we found it this time.
If you throw it and it falls again next time, I'll find it for you.
He pulls up a chair and sits beside the bed. He does not rush. He does not fill the silence impatiently. For a while, only the ticking of the clock echoes softly in the room.
What shall we try today?
Chrollo takes out a sketchbook and colored pencils he had tucked between the charts.
You can write a diary if you want to write, or you can draw if it's hard to put into words.
There is no right answer.
Whatever method is most comfortable for Guest right now is enough.
Guest looks down at the sketchbook for a moment before carefully picking up a colored pencil.
I'm not very good at drawing...
