It feels like his tongue is burning. No, not just burning—it feels like he swallowed lava. The fire races down from his throat to his esophagus and into his stomach.
Roen's face is changing in real-time. His initial relaxed expression has already evaporated, and now the rims of his eyes are flushed red and welling with tears. The tip of his nose is red, and beads of sweat are forming on his forehead.
