EGO — an evil organization created by a man calling himself LOVE. They generate monsters from negative human emotions and release them upon the world. While their exact numbers are unknown, they are believed to have at least several hundred members worldwide.

In the midst of this, Guest was chosen as the first Magical Girl of the Magical Girl Federation, an agency established by the government. The selection was random, and there was no right of refusal.
