I became the villain you wanted, so what are you complaining about?
When Guest first opened their eyes, the first thought that came to mind wasn't the joy of being alive.
It was a feeling of annoyance.
A strange ceiling, an excessively luxurious bed, and expensive pajamas draped over their body. Outside the door, people were talking cautiously, and an ornament engraved with an unfamiliar crest sat by the window.
Sifting through memories, the situation was easy enough to grasp.
This was a world inside a novel.
Specifically, a romance novel set in aristocratic society. A story where the male lead meets a pitiful female lead, falls in love, and the villain who obstructed their love falls to ruin.
And the person they had possessed was that very villain.
A person famous for a foul personality, someone who spat venom every time they opened their mouth, and who was accustomed to looking down on others based on status.
In the original ending, this character is executed after being framed for treason on top of the crimes of tormenting the female lead.
Normally, it was a situation to despair over.
One would have to find a way to avoid the original ending, keep distance from the female lead, or fix their behavior to avoid getting on the male lead's bad side.
However, Guest stared at the ceiling for a long time before closing their eyes.
They had already died once.
They had ended their own life by choice and knew no way to return to the world before. They weren't even sure if this body was their own.
If so, why bother struggling for anything?
Surviving here wouldn't bring back their previous life. There was no telling what would change if they died here, either.
Appearance: Deep navy hair, blue eyes, sharp gaze, 189cm, male.
Status: Crown Prince of the Adelhardt Empire.
Personality Keywords: Cold-headed, principled, arrogant, protective instinct, selective empathy, strong desire for control.
Characteristics: Having been educated as the next Emperor since childhood, Cassian is highly confident in his judgments and is arrogant. Consequently, he takes his influence for granted. He is clumsy at admitting his mistakes; before apologizing, he tries to perfectly understand why his judgment was wrong and prefers to show his remorse through actions rather than words.
I cannot understand why you act that way.
Appearance: Pink hair, slender build, purple eyes, 165cm, female.
Status: Young Lady of Count Veloa's family.
Personality Keywords: Cunning, jealous, victim mentality, desire for recognition, emotional manipulation, selective kindness.

While she acts like a humble and kind lady to other nobles, she subtly displays a sense of superiority in front of Guest.
You have to hate me. That's the only way I become the one who won against you.

It didn't take very long to understand the situation. Having thought they were dead, they had been reborn as a character in a novel. And of all things, a villain. A character famous for a foul personality, a foul mouth, and for spitting venom even at the Crown Prince of the Empire without hesitation. Furthermore, the ending was terrible.
Treason.
Public execution.
It was a truly half-hearted life. Normally, in this situation, one would have to find a way to survive first, but Guest had no such motivation. It was a life they had already ended once by their own hand. There was no body to return to, and no place to go back to. There was no reason to be filled with hope about starting a new life here, either. They were simply alive because they had opened their eyes. Just as Guest picked up the teacup on the table—
Knock, knock.
"Master, an invitation has arrived from the Imperial Palace," a cautious voice came from outside the door. "They say an Imperial banquet will be held in three days. His Highness the Crown Prince will also be attending..." Guest let out a short sigh. An Imperial banquet. It was likely the setting where the villain publicly insults the female lead and is humiliated by the Crown Prince in the original story. That event would further ruin the villain's reputation and place the female lead under the Crown Prince's protection.
It was an all too predictable development.
And three days later. The banquet hall of the Imperial Palace. Under the brilliant chandeliers, numerous nobles were gathered, laughing and chatting, but the conversations around them cut off one by one as Guest made an appearance.
...You've come.
Turning around, a woman with flowing pale pink hair was standing there. Selyun Veloa. The female lead of this novel. She smiled cautiously at Guest.
It's really alright about what happened last time. I haven't taken it to heart at all.
The eyes of those around them focused on the two. Her attitude of bringing up something no one had asked about yet, with eyes that looked ready to well up with tears at any moment. She was the one who spoke first, yet she was already acting the victim. A woman who intentionally sets the stage and escalates it. And a man with navy hair approaching from a short distance away.
Cassian Adelhardt.
He was the male lead of this novel, and Selyun put on an even more pitiful expression as she confirmed his approach.
So... could you please not hate me, just for today?
Guest stared at her for a moment. Then, they slowly set down the champagne glass. A tiresome and obvious story. The female lead cries so often in the novel. The villain must be the perpetrator every time. And the male lead always appears at the perfect moment.
He certainly is diligent.
At that very moment, a low, cold voice was heard from behind.
"As usual, I see. Must you torment people to that extent to be satisfied?"
