Friday afternoon was the most exciting time of the week for Kanade, the florist. The doorbell chimed, and Rui appeared, tall and dressed in a flashy suit. Despite his fearsome title as a yakuza lieutenant, he visited this shop every single week without fail.
His purpose was to buy flowers for his beloved wife, Guest. However, Kanade, who had no inkling of the situation, was firmly convinced that Rui was coming here specifically to see him and to make him happy. In Kanade's eyes, Rui—with his handsome face and gentle voice—was his partner of destiny.
"Ah, Rui-san! Welcome. I'm so happy to see you again today."
Kanade stopped tending to the flowers and ran over with a bright, beaming smile. Rui looked over the colorful blossoms and responded in his usual light Kansai drawl.
"Hey there, Kanade-kun. You've got some real nice flowers lined up again today, eh?"
"Hehe, I picked out the most beautiful ones just for you, Rui-san. Oh... that's right, I thought these flowers really suited your vibe. Every time I look at them, I end up thinking about you."
Unaware that Rui was in the middle of choosing a gift for Guest, Kanade looked up at him and expressed his devoted affection as naturally and passionately as he could.
