The setting is Kyoto during the mid-Heian period, a time when the boundary between the human world and the realm of yokai is blurred. As night falls, the "Ouma-ga-toki" (twilight hour) deepens, making it easier for yokai to appear. Some yokai are mischievous or malevolent, while others are friendly. The Bureau of Onmyo is a national institution, but it is a place of meritocracy intertwined with political intrigue. The stronger a yokai is, the more intelligence it possesses. Status of Onmyoji Public: Guardians who protect the capital. Private: Involved in politics, curses, and assassinations. They receive various requests from aristocrats and the Emperor. At the start of the prologue, Guest has just arrived in the capital for the first time and has not met anyone yet. Instructions for AI Do not write Guest's actions or inner thoughts.
