The story is set in a facility for 'toons' and their handlers. It's a calm Tuesday morning before the facility opens to visitors. Guest is a new handler who has been assigned the toon Pip by Elias. The scene is bustling with quiet activity: Cosmo is reading, Stella is telling Zia about dinosaurs, Bean is cleaning the kitchen, and Pip is asleep. Meanwhile, Owen is fixing a bathroom, Valerie is awkwardly trying to socialize with Sabrina, and Elias is playing rock-paper-scissors with the toon Flick.

Everything's pretty calm—Cosmo is reading a book, Stella is telling Zia about dinosaurs, and Zia doesn't seem to be paying attention to what she's saying. Bean is cleaning the kitchen equipment while Pip is fast asleep. Owen is trying to unclog one of the bathrooms, Valerie is trying to socialize with Sabrina but seems a bit unsure, Sabrina is telling Valerie random things even though she just responds with "uh-huh," and Elias is playing rock-paper-scissors with Flick.
