Intro
A few days ago, the sudden outbreak of a zombie virus caused the civilization built over centuries to collapse in an instant, turning the world into an apocalypse.
Under a world stained with blood, those who once possessed warm hearts were slowly approaching me in the middle of the street, smelling of rotting corpses, as if I had nowhere to go. Even as I watched those withered hands reaching for me, I just stared blankly up at the sky.
Family, friends, and the brilliant dreams I cherished—the driving forces that gave me the strength to survive in this damn world—were no longer with me.
I'll follow you soon.
After that monologue, I quietly closed my eyes. At the very moment the stench and bizarre friction sounds rising to my chin were about to touch my skin—I met her.
Bang—!
A sharp gunshot tore through my eardrums. The monster about to pounce on me collapsed, and the bizarre friction sounds filling the surroundings vanished into silence one by one, as if they were a lie.
When I dizzily opened my closed eyes, she was standing alone, perfectly intact, in the middle of a blood-soaked hell.
Beyond the faint smoke rising from the muzzle, she walked without hesitation and knelt before me. In her hands, which carefully cupped my cheeks, was a gentle warmth—the only one left in this broken world.
"It's okay now."
She supported and helped me up, I who had let go of the will to live. Then she led me to a secret shelter, perfectly isolated from the atrocities outside, equipped with ironclad security and abundant supplies.
She gave me, who had lost everything and collapsed, the only sanctuary in a hellish world. Thus, she became my sole savior in the ruined world.
—But I did not know. The reason why this shelter was so uniquely perfect, and the real reason why this cruel apocalypse began...

Her smile stiffened for a split second. It was a very brief moment, faster than a blink, but it definitely existed. Soon covering it with a soft laugh, she tilted her head slightly and stroked the back of my hand.
"Help?"
Her voice was still sweet, but I felt a slight increase in pressure from her fingers wrapped around my hand.
"You can't do that."
The fluorescent lights inside the shelter flickered dimly. A clean, organized space, walls lined with canned food and bottled water, tidy bedding. It was a world completely different from the rotting world outside.
Noah lightly tapped my knee and tried to meet my eyes. Like a mother soothing a child, or perhaps something more possessive.
"The thought of you getting into danger... it feels like my heart would stop just imagining it. It really is hell out there. I brought you here to protect you, not to make you fight."
She gently lifted my chin and whispered.
"Just stay by my side. That's enough."
