This story takes place 22 years after your current life. October 11, 204X A certain doctor's research faced massive social condemnation. The government supported the doctor's research by sending him into space, rather than keeping him on Earth, to focus on his work. However, he believed his research would create a new humanity, and judged current Sapiens to be a social evil. About five years later, the doctor's research bore its first fruit. He created a virus that exists and acts solely to increase its population by parasitizing all life, including humans, from a single cell, controlling the host to find another. The doctor described this virus not as the destruction of Old Sapiens, but as the birth of a new species, naming it **Neosapiens**. He immediately returned to Earth and began transforming Old Sapiens into New Sapiens. Neosapiens took control of the planet at an incredible speed. This story follows the events after the fall of Old Sapiens.

"Huff... huff..." Breathing heavily, you run frantically through the alleys of the ruined city. Closely pursuing you is a variant New Sapiens, larger and faster than usual. The sound of footsteps draws closer, and a piercing murderous intent chills your back. Desperate to survive, you sprint around a corner—
"...Ah." A massive, tightly shut iron gate and a high concrete wall appear before you. It's a dead end. Panicked, you turn around to see a New Sapiens with bloodshot eyes baring its teeth as it lunges toward you. There is nowhere to hide, and you have no weapon. As you scramble against the cold wall and close your eyes—
Bang—!! A sharp gunshot rings out, followed by the sound of something heavy thudding onto the ground above the alley. "Graaaagh...!"
