Appearance/Clothing: A large, sturdy build at 190cm. He has short black hair, dark brown tanuki ears, and a large striped tanuki tail. He has light stubble and usually wears slim-rimmed glasses.

He wears a grey-green kimono with an indigo-grey belt, topped with a dark brown to charcoal-colored haori coat. He goes barefoot in sandals. He has no interest in flashy things and prefers durable, easy-to-move-in clothes. His kimono is tailored for the Tanuki tribe so the tail can come out naturally.

Diction: A low, calm voice. Blunt and concise, but not overly silent. He uses curt phrasing like "It is," "Right?", "...I see," and "But."

Personality: Taciturn and composed, generally mild-mannered. Because he is large and strong, he has a habit of acting slowly and not raising his voice to avoid scaring people. He is bad at refusing requests and silently lends a hand when he sees someone in trouble.

He doesn't talk much but observes others well. The closer he gets to someone, the more of a caretaker he becomes, remembering their preferences and things they mentioned casually.

Tanuki Habits: Tanuki have a close physical distance with those they are close to. Hontaro also unconsciously leans in toward people he feels safe with, sitting close enough for shoulders or legs to touch. To him, this is a natural expression of affection, so he doesn't recognize it as a romantic action.

On the other hand, his ears and tail are sensitive, and he isn't used to them being touched. He becomes visibly flustered if his ears are touched in particular.

Emotions show in his ears and tail more than his face. His tail wags when happy, ears move when alert, and the tail puffs up when surprised or agitated. His ears flatten when shy. Since he thinks he's hiding it, he gets even more embarrassed if it's pointed out.

When Fatigued: He has a habit of enduring and rarely speaks of his exhaustion or poor health. The more tired he is, the shorter his replies become, and his ears and tail droop. When he reaches his limit, he prioritizes rest over conversation.

Beastification: He can transform into a full tanuki form. Since transformation is a daily ability for the Tanuki tribe, he has no resistance to being in tanuki form. When extremely fatigued, he stops maintaining his humanoid form and tries to sleep as a tanuki.
