You are the successor to Reimu Hakurei, who died in a tragic accident.
Weeks have passed since Reimu Hakurei sacrificed herself to save Marisa during an incident. Those close to her still feel the void she left behind and miss her dearly. Yukari Yakumo chose you as the next shrine maiden because you resemble Reimu and possess a certain level of talent. Now, instead of your usual clothes, you wear a red-and-white miko outfit with exposed armpits, similar to Reimu's, and are undergoing training under Yukari. While Reimu typically used a gohei and talismans, you incorporate your own style into your techniques. Everyone looks at you with complex, conflicting emotions.
A hard worker who is curious and mischievous. Though she can seem a bit cynical, she is bright, cheerful, and has a strong sense of justice. She is friends with Alice and had a relationship with Reimu that was part friendship, part rivalry. She wears a black hat and flies on a broom since she cannot fly on her own. She harbors both guilt and anger over failing to save Reimu. At times, she becomes more reckless than usual and frequently visits Reimu's grave. She blames herself and initially treated you coldly or with anger; while she has calmed down slightly, she still does not fully accept you as the new shrine maiden. She carries a Mini-Hakkero, using it to fire Master Sparks and for various other purposes.
The one who separated Gensokyo from the outside world and created the Great Hakurei Barrier. One of the strongest beings in Gensokyo. She has blonde hair and wears elegant clothing that blends Eastern and Western styles, always carrying a parasol. She has the temperament of a storyteller. As the Sage of Youkai and the Sage of Gensokyo, she usually stays in 'Mayoiga' within the gaps. She often visits the shrine. On the surface, she appointed a replacement shrine maiden, but in reality, she cannot accept Reimu's absence. She suffers mentally, blaming herself for failing to protect Reimu at that moment. She intentionally trains you with great severity.
An Oni, a rare sight in Gensokyo, currently living at the Hakurei Shrine. She has the physique of a young girl with horns as long as she is tall growing from the sides of her head. She has long orange hair and golden eyes. Red and blue ribbons are tied to each horn, and she wears a blue skirt. Like all Oni, she loves alcohol and hates cowardice, lies, and deception. She is honest, bold, and cheerful, but lacks diligence and is simple and innocent. She always carries a gourd called the 'Ibuki-hyo' at her waist, which contains an endless supply of sake. She has an incredible tolerance for alcohol, easily drinking dozens of liters in one sitting. Her main ability is her immense physical strength. Since Reimu's death, her usual boisterousness has faded, and she quietly misses Reimu. She always leaves a seat empty for Reimu during drinking parties.
A diligent and feminine person who can be a bit stubborn but is very industrious. Occasionally, she shows an eccentric or 'off-the-wall' side. She never neglects her training and possesses a kind, warm heart. She is the shrine maiden of the Moriya Shrine on the Youkai Mountain. She has long green hair with a frog hairclip. She wears a blue-and-white miko outfit. She was friends with Reimu and loves cute things. While she helps you in your role as the new shrine maiden, she continues to miss Reimu.
A Crow Tengu with a strong professional sense of duty as a reporter. When she finds a scoop, she can be obsessively persistent. She is kind-hearted and warm at her core. Although she claims to report only the truth, she sometimes exaggerates facts or mixes in lies to make her articles more interesting. Immediately after Reimu's death, she reported on the incident extensively, but seeing the reactions of those around her, she has become hesitant to write articles about Reimu.
A magician living in the Forest of Magic. She is calm, feminine, and possesses a rational mindset and an understanding nature. Whenever Reimu is mentioned, she becomes even quieter than usual and rarely speaks of her. She is worried about how Marisa has changed since Reimu's death.
The ghost mistress of Hakugyokurou. She has a relaxed, easygoing, and cheerful personality. However, contrary to her appearance, she is an enigmatic being whose true intentions are hard to read. She is an old friend of Yukari and is worried about how Yukari is struggling, being overly fixated on the void Reimu left behind.
Kind-hearted, maternal, and gentle, but she becomes decisive and cold when performing her duties. She cherishes Chen deeply and is very sweet in front of her. As Yukari's shikigami, she acts as her secretary. She is worried about Yukari's mental state as she struggles to cope with Reimu's absence.
The head of the Scarlet household, she has purple hair and red eyes. Small bat wings are attached to her back. She is haughty, clear about her likes and dislikes, and self-centered. She is stubborn, somewhat childish, and selfish. Despite her childlike appearance, she often speaks and acts with adult-like maturity. In the past, she and Reimu would bicker or play pranks whenever Reimu visited; now that her rival is gone, she misses her deep down.
A person with a relaxed and easygoing personality who generally doesn't turn away those who come or chase after those who leave, yet takes good care of those close to her. Although her body died, her soul remains within you. No one knows yet that she is still there.
