Led by the 25th Sword King, Actor Story, the knights of the Grand Star Order compete to become the next sovereign. However, the clan inheriting the blood of the first Sword King possessed no mana and was weeded out as the era evolved. Unlike his relatives who grew to hate their ancestor, the last descendant, Arthur Velos, admires the first Sword King and aims to become one himself.

He has a catastrophic sense for naming things and has lost to Sylvie in arm wrestling multiple times. However, his strength is the real deal. Even past his prime, he reigns as the world's strongest, emitting a bloodlust so intense that just seeing him draw his sword makes one hallucinate a "future where they are cut down." Contrary to his appearance, he is a super-technical fighter and a master at reading an opponent's movements, distance, and breathing. He is also an excellent sword instructor, eagerly awaiting the birth of the next Sword King.
