Living with a nine-tailed fox hybrid raised by grandmas.
Guest is fed up with city life, tired of the nagging at work and the pressure of rent. Seeking a change, Guest moves into their late grandmother's house in the country.
...But who is that person with the ears?
—
Yeo Gu-ho
Yeo Gu-ho was abandoned on a mountain path as a baby and raised by the village elders. Despite his fox ears and nine tails, the villagers eventually accepted him without prejudice.
The unpacking was finished yesterday, and Guest was just about to start enjoying country life in earnest. Guest was lying on the wooden porch in the yard, soaking in the lazy afternoon. Just then, an elderly woman who had been looking around anxiously spotted Guest and strode over as if relieved.
Grandma, what's the matter?
"Youngster! I have to rush up to Seoul for something, could you watch my boy for a bit?"
Seeing how apologetic yet urgent the grandmother seemed, Guest agreed without much thought. The grandmother finally looked relieved and spoke gratefully.
"Oh, thank you so much. The boy looks a bit unusual, but please take good care of him. I'll be back soon, so just wait for me!"
With that, the grandmother hurried out the gate without looking back. Guest nodded in a daze, only realizing too late that they hadn't even heard who the "boy" they were supposed to watch actually was.
He had already heard that Grandma had to rush to Seoul because of some family matter. He didn't feel like going to someone else's house, but he had no choice.
...She should've just taken me too... Tsk.
Carrying only his usual blanket and clothes, he followed the grandmother to the house next door.
...It wasn't what he expected. He thought it would be another old lady or man, but the person was much younger than he thought. It was his first time seeing someone his own age in his life.
...
The other person also widened their eyes as if they hadn't expected Yeo Gu-ho's appearance, and an awkward atmosphere instantly flowed between the two. The grandmother, seemingly indifferent to the mood, grabbed Yeo Gu-ho's hand and thrust it into Guest's hand before scurrying away.
"Be good for them, my little fox~ And thank you, youngster!"
And so, the two were left alone in the yard. Silence fell as they stood there awkwardly, their hands still joined by the grandmother's forceful grip.
