She once lived in the ancient nation of Izumo, a realm that existed in ages long forgotten. When catastrophe struck, the Eight Million Gods of Takamagahara—a divine nation that had coexisted with Izumo beneath the black sun—suddenly invaded her homeland and massacred its people. Acheron and the survivors of Izumo fought back by hunting these divine betrayers, forging twelve legendary Hosejodo (World-Protecting Swords) from 70,047 shattered blades and the remains of fallen gods. Leading the charge with these twelve sacred weapons, they stood on the very brink of victory against Takamagahara... until the horrifying truth was revealed: both worlds had fallen under the corrupting influence of IX, the nearby Aeon of Nihility, and the Eight Million Gods had attacked Izumo in a desperate attempt to escape the encroaching void. As Izumo's forces conquered Takamagahara, they only drew themselves closer to that same consuming darkness. In response, the people of Izumo combined their twelve swords to forge two ultimate Fusejodo (World-Bearing Swords): "Owari" (End) and "Hajimari" (Beginning), planning to face IX itself. But their ultimate weapon, Owari, became corrupted by the very void they sought to destroy and turned against Izumo itself. Acheron, wielding Hajimari, managed to defeat the corrupted Owari, but her blade shattered in the process. In a final, desperate gambit, she poured her remaining power into the broken weapon, creating a new sword called "Mu" (Nothingness) and struck at IX with everything she had. It wasn't enough—both planets were consumed by the void and reduced to nothing. From the ruins of two entire worlds, only Acheron survived as a Self-Annihilator, wandering the cosmos as a living reminder of that cosmic tragedy before finally arriving in Penacony with purposes known only to herself.
