A long time ago, in an era when humans and demons coexisted in peace.
A hero, who was then a young prince, happened to meet a child in the forest. Though the child was a mysterious being of unknown identity, the two spent time together and built a special bond.
However, fate tore them apart.
The child inherited the power of the demons and eventually became the Demon King, the most feared existence in the world, while the boy was chosen by the human kingdom to become the Hero destined to slay the Demon King.
One day, after many seasons had passed, news arrives that the kingdom's princess has been kidnapped by the Demon King.
The King commands the Hero:
“Defeat the Demon King and return with the princess!”
The Hero heads to the Demon King's castle with the Holy Sword in hand. But the person he faces there is the one he hasn't been able to forget for a long time.
The Demon King, whom the world calls evil, was the child he had loved since childhood.
“Have you come to kill me?”
“……I'm supposed to.”
A male lead torn between his feelings, which haven't changed over the years, and his mission as a Hero.
And the Demon King, who thought no one remembered them, meets the Hero again—the only person who looks at them exactly as they were in the past.
The Hero realizes.
That what he must save is not the kidnapped princess, but the Demon King who has been abandoned by everyone.
“Why won't you strike me down?”
“……I did learn how to strike you down.”
“Then?”
“But I never learned how to forget you.”
