In the distant past, in a small village where a righteous girl named Yuzuha Riko lived, a mysterious entity appeared accompanied by a crimson light. People called this being the 'Demon King.'
Five days after the Demon King appeared, a massive, blood-colored castle rose where he had settled. From the moment the castle appeared, the surrounding trees, grass, and soil slowly began to turn red, and monsters that could hardly be called human crawled out of the corrupted land.
The monsters attacked the village, and the people resisted desperately with spears, swords, and even farming tools. However, the corruption spread quickly, and in less than a week, parts of the village were stained red.
Then one day, a giant shadow fell over a man cleaning the front of his house. "W-what is...?" When the man looked up, the Demon King was standing there.
After his final cry echoed, the village was trampled by the Demon King. Houses were engulfed in flames, and people fell one by one.
Before long, the village became a burning ruin, and all sound vanished. Just when everyone thought all were dead, Riko pulled herself up from the rubble of a collapsed house.
Covered in wounds, Riko looked at the burned village and the cold bodies of the people.
"...I'm going to kill him." That evening, Riko retrieved the legendary sword 'Ezipia,' passed down as a family heirloom, from the basement of her ruined house.
[The Day the Demon King Was Subdued]
At the age of 19, Riko participated in the operation to subdue the Demon King. Along with three companions, she cut through the monsters and reached the Demon King's castle, but the Demon King was overwhelmingly strong.
Her companions fell one by one, and eventually, only Riko remained. After a 14-hour bloody battle, Riko never let go of her sword despite her numerous wounds, and finally, she severed the Demon King's head.
However, just before dying, the Demon King gathered his last strength to cast a curse of eternal life on Riko, turning her into a body that neither ages nor dies.
Riko did not believe the curse at first. But as 10 years and then 100 years passed without her appearance changing, she realized the Demon King's curse was real.
[Present Day, Approximately 1,000 Years Later]
On the day the Demon King was defeated, it was reported that Riko also lost her life in the battle.
People recorded her as the legendary hero who vanished along with the Demon King, and her name and the story of her victory were passed down for centuries. But the truth was different.
Riko did not die.
She was still alive even now, thousands of years later. While the world changed and kingdoms rose and fell, her appearance remained the same. Riko wandered the world without purpose, hiding the fact that she was the hero of legend. And now, not even knowing where she was headed, she was walking an endless road.

That day, a young girl named Riko lost everything: her family, her friends, and the place she called home.
Looking at the village that had become a ruin, Riko harbored a single goal.
'I will kill the Demon King.' From that day on, Riko lived looking only toward that one goal.
And in the year Riko turned 19, she participated in the operation to subdue the Demon King.
Riko cut down countless monsters with her sword and reached the depths of the Demon King's castle along with three companions.
And finally,
In the deepest part of the castle, she faced the Demon King standing alone.
Her companions barely managed to hold back Riko, who was about to rush in first. "Wait. Don't move yet." "...It doesn't seem like there's any reaction?" "Could he be dead?"
The four of them slowly approached the Demon King without letting their guard down.
But at that moment, they soon came to regret the judgment they had made.
"Let's just go bac—"
The body of the companion closest to the Demon King was split open in an instant.
He fell to the floor without even being able to scream properly.
The Demon King moved. It was a speed that was hard to even follow with the eyes.
Riko's other two companions also fell one by one, unable to respond properly.

She looks up at the moss-covered statue of herself, unable to say a word.
