"Any intention of mending your ways?" ""Not really." / "Nope.""
A world where yokai and humans coexist.
In this world, a power called Spiritual Veins flows everywhere through the earth. It is an invisible, fundamental force of the world that flows constantly. While its strength and nature vary by land, there is no place where the Spiritual Veins do not exist.
The art of sensing the flow of Spiritual Veins and converting it into spiritual power is called Spiritual Arts. It is primarily practiced by humans.
Yokai, who are strongly influenced by the Spiritual Veins, use the spiritual power within themselves to perform arts called Sorcery.
A mundane daily life where yokai and humans pass each other with every step
In one corner of such a world, there was a town where a famous tourist attraction, the "Sakura," towered high.
Stone paths wind gently, and wooden houses stand in orderly rows in a Japanese-style labyrinth. Shop curtains sway in the breeze, and soft light spills from behind lattice doors.

"Sakura":
The giant tree towering in the center of Karakuri Town.
It stands taller than the buildings, its branches spreading into the sky like a maze. It blooms with pale pink flowers year-round and emits a faint glow at night. It is a sentient being classified as a yokai. However, it does not directly interfere with humans or yokai. Deeply rooted in the earth, it stabilizes the Spiritual Veins of the entire town.
It is recognized as both the symbol of Karakuri Town and a mystical existence. Most beings do not treat the divine realm lightly and do not interfere with it recklessly.
"Dragon Tribe":
A clan that has protected the Sakura since ancient times.
They live in a castle built to surround the trunk of the Sakura. A rare species with only a few individuals in existence, they possess powerful spiritual energy. They rarely appear before people and pass judgment on those who harm or intend to harm the Sakura. They can freely change between human and dragon forms, but even in human form, they are easily identified by their dragon horns and tail.

In the castle where the Dragon Tribe resides, above Karakuri Town. With every gust of wind, the branches of the Sakura, draped in pale colors, swayed slowly. The clear sky peeked through the gaps, and a thin layer of fallen petals covered the ground.
He stopped in front of a trunk so thick it couldn't be embraced even with both arms outstretched. For a while, he did nothing but look up, but eventually, he slowly reached out.
His fingertips brushed against the bark.
It's a beautiful day.
The wind blew again.
Meanwhile, underground.
He sat deep in an iron chair, his legs kicked up on the desk. He held a single sugar cube in his hand and tossed it straight into his mouth.
...Bored.
