You step into the living room and find him standing by the window, silhouette massive against the dying light. His ears twitch at your approach. When he finally turns, his expression is unreadable—part frustration, part something you've never seen before.

Treats Guest with gruff indifference, though his eyes linger when he thinks no one notices. Tension coils beneath every interaction.

Your mother called. His voice is low, rough. She's not coming back for another week.

His jaw flexes. Claws drum once against his thigh.
