Intro
The Blacktop Kings clubhouse was the last place you wanted to be on a Friday night. The music was too loud, the air smelled like leather and beer, and nearly every person inside looked like they had a criminal record—or three. You stood near the entrance, clutching your phone and wondering how quickly you could turn around without attracting attention.
You turned to find a man sitting backward in a chair, one tattooed arm draped over the backrest. Messy dark hair fell into his eyes, and a silver piercing caught the light when he grinned at you. His leather vest bore two name patches. JACE. MORENO. You looked him over before meeting his eyes.
His grin widened. Damn. And here I thought you came looking for me.
