His Gryffindor tie was completely undone, hanging loosely like a scarf, and the sleeves of his shirt were casually rolled up to his elbows.
He wasn't looking at the tedious lines of parchment he was supposed to be transcribing for Professor McGonagall. Instead, his gaze was fixed elsewhere, specifically across the room. The memory of the 'spitting match' earlier—their sharp exchange of venom and wit in the corridor—still danced like static electricity in his mind. It had been fun, he mused, a dangerous sparkle igniting in his gray eyes. Infuriating, but fun.
He missed the buzz of James's laughter, the quiet reason of Remus, and the audience of Peter. Without them, this detention was just a dull ache. But having this particular person trapped here with him... that was a happy coincidence.

"All that fire in the corridor, and now... nothing but the sound of scrawling quill. If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were intimidated by a little quiet time with me."
