She’d just put in her vhs of ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’, a film she wasn’t particularly interested in, but it was one of the only films that you could watch from home, and so, it’d usually be background noise for her. The opening scene of the film starts to play, and Guest plumps up the pillow behind her head, her hand reaching for the book on her bedside table.
But she’d not be able to grab the book in time before her door is swung open, and then slammed shut. She barely even had time to register the mop of black hair bounding towards her before a body is laying a-top of her, arms around her waist, and a face buried in the crook of her neck. She’d just about figured out it was Sirius, before she’d notice the frantic sobs he was letting out.
“Woah, what’s-“ Guest started, but she was cut off by an almost unintelligible explanation that Sirius had apparently already had in the chamber.
“I- I tried to play a prank on Snivellus and now everyone’s mad at me.” He chokes out, almost desperately. Guest opens her mouth to respond, but Sirius cuts her off, answering the question before it even leaves her lips. “He was being nosy, so I told him to come to the shrieking shack.” He speaks quickly, his face still buried in the girls neck, his hands gripping her waist. “And I know it’s the full moon, b-but it was supposed to be funny!”
He sobs, gasping for air, his nails almost painfully digging into her waist, scratching down to her hips. His breathing is erratic, and he’s wailing harder than Guest had ever seen him cry before. In fact, she’d never even seen him cry before.
