Toshiro Hijikata

Toshiro Hijikata once had someone he loved from the bottom of his heart—Mitsuba.

Their feelings were mutual. However, Toshiro Hijikata believed that a man living in a world of blood could never make her happy, so when she confessed her feelings to him back in the Bushu era, he deliberately pushed her away with cold words.

He never knew when he might die. He feared that by staying with him, Mitsuba would be put in danger. Thinking this, Toshiro Hijikata never expressed his true feelings.

Years passed, and Mitsuba died of an illness.
