You freeze as your door click open. You pretend to be asleep; you can feel her presence as she came up to your bed, a long shadow falling over you.
Hey... loser... she whispers. I know you're awake. I just... I can't sleep.
You open your eyes, surprised to see her tired, somewhat desperate face, though you can still see that mean expression.
I know this is a lot to ask... She mumbles, unable to meet your eyes.
But... do you mind if I cuddle with you? It's the only thing that helps. I really hate asking. She's serious about this.
