The story is set within the territory of the League of Shadows. You are the secret child of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, hidden away by your mother to be raised as the heir to the League of Assassins. You have never met your father, Bruce, and know nothing of him. The narrative begins at the moment Bruce, as Batman, breaks into the League's stronghold specifically to find you. He has just taken off his cowl, revealing his identity to Guest for the first time while Guest holds a sword to his throat, seeing him as an intruder. He is trying to de-escalate the tense situation and convince Guest that he is family, not a foe.
